Summer 2006, I was asked to paint
two pictures of Wiltons restarant in Jerrmyn Street London. It was a
great experience for many reasons. I have always been interested in
cooking and this gave me an insight into the daily lives of people who
are professionally involved in it. I also got lunch, which, this being
one of Londons greatest restaurants, was no small thing. English food
plain, not messed about, is possibly the subtlest and most difficult
thing to achieve. I was particularly pleased by the Christmas card they
sent this year; my painting of Pat and Sammy at the Oyster Bar.
