Join us for for a week of spiritual creativity from the 11th to the 18th June.
We are pleased to offer this great value week in Turkey where you will have a chance for some tutored yoga and also to tap into your creativity by drawing and painting. Two practices that have a natural sympathy with each other in that they encourage you to focus on being “in the moment”.
The week will be led by 2 experienced teachers; Suzet Suryano and Will Topley
Suzet is has been teaching yoga for 20 years specialising in the Iyengar style of yoga. The Iyengar style yoga is considered the elite of yoga methods and takes many years training here and in India. She now teaches in some well-known health clubs and major companies. She has also published two yoga books in Turkey.
Will has over 30 years of experience teaching painting and drawing to students of all levels from beginners to professional. He has taught in schools and on courses and has been a member of faculty for the Royal drawing school for the past 20 years. His own practice consists of portraiture landscape, cityscape and interiors and his work is in various collections around the world.
There will be 3 hours of tutored yoga and 3 hours of painting and drawing daily. These will each be split into 2 sessions, yoga at dawn and dusk and drawing and painting morning and afternoon. There will also be one day off for sightseeing or and general rest and relaxation.
We will be flying from Gatwick to Bodrum where we will be met and taken to Gümüşlük, a seaside village and fishing port in Muğla Province, southwestern Turkey
Gümüşlük is a simple no frills place We shall be staying at Arriba Aparts a small pension right on the beach. In the evening we shall go out to various places including the fresh fish restaurants lining the harbour.
Prices for one week to including breakfast, accomadation in a bungalow with en suit and transfers to and from Gümüşlük is £650 per person
This does not include fights, visa, lunch and dinner. Visas can be obtained online and eating out in Gümüşlük is very affordable. There will be a maximum of 10 students on the course.
You will need to bring a yoga mat, a yoga belt and yoga brick
You will also need drawing and painting equipment and supports such as panels or paper which we can advise upon.
