Ultramarine. Oil on Gesso.
This painting was used for the invitation card when I
showed at Long and Ryle in December 1994
Unlike painting portraits, still life is totally between you and the
picture. There is no need to make complicated plans over sittings. In
spite of the French name for still life being nature morte the
picture
need not be dead, instead it can be an equivalent to a landscape, or
even
a nude.
